Poland is a Constitutional Republic, about the size of the U.S. State of New Mexico, with a rich history dating back to the 10th century. Its current independence came in November of 1918.
It is estimated that almost 90% of its people are Roman Catholic, with about 75% practicing, with small percentages of Eastern Orthodox and Protestant Christians.
Its chief of state is President Lech Kaczynski, and the head of the government is Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski.
